Navegadores web como Safari, de Apple, y Firefox, de Mozilla, ya han tomado medidas para\u00a0<span class=\"sp-mseditorfix\" data-mseditorfix=\"363d7011-83dd-4cc0-bdec-ea4af4df4dbb:severaly\">gravemente<\/span>\u00a0limitar el uso de cookies de terceros. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/chrome\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chrome de Google<\/a> parec\u00eda que iba a hacer lo mismo. Las cookies son, en s\u00ed mismas, peque\u00f1os archivos que se almacenan en el navegador para recordar ciertos datos necesarios para determinadas funciones (por ejemplo, para mantenerte conectado a un sitio web o conservar tu cesta de la compra mientras navegas por una tienda online). Cuando la cookie la instala el propio sitio web, se trata de una cookie de origen.<\/p>\n<p>En publicidad, las cookies pueden almacenar un identificador personal, que luego puede vincularse a tu perfil de usuario en un sistema publicitario. Esto significa que Google, Amazon y otras empresas pueden\u00a0<span class=\"sp-mseditorfix\" data-mseditorfix=\"7c2ff4d7-41a9-4310-949b-863a0dfa4257:built\">construir<\/span>\u00a0un perfil basado en tu comportamiento de navegaci\u00f3n, y los anunciantes pueden utilizarlo para mostrarte anuncios personalizados espec\u00edficos. Un ejemplo muy claro de esto es cuando est\u00e1s buscando zapatos en una tienda online y, durante los d\u00edas siguientes, ves un mont\u00f3n de anuncios relacionados con ese par de zapatos concreto. La cookie con ese identificador personal la coloca un script externo en el sitio web (el single tag de R89 tambi\u00e9n es un script externo) y se trata de una cookie de terceros.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><i><strong>\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 tanto revuelo con las cookies de terceros?<\/strong><\/i><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Con la creciente atenci\u00f3n que se presta a la privacidad de los usuarios, las cookies de terceros se han convertido en un tema central en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os. Esto se debe a que, mediante su uso, los sistemas publicitarios creaban perfiles personales, algo que cada vez se considera m\u00e1s preocupante.<\/p>\n<p>Para hacer frente a esta preocupaci\u00f3n, algunos navegadores web, como Safari y Firefox, han restringido el uso de las cookies de terceros. En su configuraci\u00f3n, el uso de estas cookies est\u00e1 m\u00e1s limitado en cuanto a su finalidad y al tiempo que permanecen en el navegador, lo que elimina de hecho la posibilidad de crear perfiles de usuario y mostrar anuncios m\u00e1s personalizados a trav\u00e9s de este m\u00e9todo. El resultado ha sido una ca\u00edda de las tarifas de CPM en dichos navegadores.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><i><strong>\u00bfCu\u00e1les eran los planes de Google?<\/strong><\/i><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>En un principio, Google quer\u00eda imponer una restricci\u00f3n similar a las cookies de terceros en 2022. Ese plazo se pospuso hasta 2023, luego hasta 2024, y ahora parece que los planes podr\u00edan descartarse por completo.<\/p>\n<p>Dado que Google se financia mediante la publicidad (a diferencia de Apple y Mozilla), su plan consist\u00eda en sustituir las cookies de terceros por el Privacy Sandbox. Se trata de un sistema integrado en el propio navegador Chrome que recopila ciertos datos basados en el historial de navegaci\u00f3n de los usuarios y los env\u00eda al servidor de anuncios en un\u00a0<span class=\"sp-mseditorfix\" data-mseditorfix=\"363d7011-83dd-4cc0-bdec-ea4af4df4dbb:anonimized\">anonimizado<\/span>\u00a0de esta manera y permite a los anunciantes seguir realizando una segmentaci\u00f3n semipersonalizada.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><i><strong>\u00bfA qu\u00e9 se debe este cambio?<\/strong><\/i><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Privacy Sandbox lleva en fase de pruebas desde principios de este a\u00f1o. A ra\u00edz de ello, ha suscitado la preocupaci\u00f3n de los organismos reguladores, los grupos publicitarios y los publishers, que temen que la transici\u00f3n a Privacy Sandbox no sustituya adecuadamente la funcionalidad de las cookies de terceros de una forma m\u00e1s respetuosa con la privacidad. Las pruebas realizadas por Criteo sugirieron que aumentar\u00eda significativamente la cuota de mercado de Google en la publicidad online, mientras que las pruebas de los publishers revelaron una ca\u00edda de sus ingresos de entre un 20 % y un 34 %. En lugar de dejar de utilizar las cookies de terceros, introducir\u00edamos una nueva experiencia en Chrome que permita a los usuarios tomar una decisi\u00f3n informada que se aplique a toda su navegaci\u00f3n web, y que puedan modificar en cualquier momento.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Parece que Google mantendr\u00e1 las cookies de terceros, pero crear\u00e1 un sistema m\u00e1s f\u00e1cil de usar para limitarlas si el usuario as\u00ed lo desea. A\u00fan no est\u00e1 claro c\u00f3mo funcionar\u00e1 esto.<\/p>\n<p>Una posibilidad es un mensaje cuando se instala el navegador en el que el usuario elige si las acepta o no, similar a un mensaje de gesti\u00f3n de consentimiento.
